Guide to Export Enforcement
- Shield America
November 15, 2006

Our speaker was Martin Odenyo a Special Agent with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.   Below is a sample of his presentation.  He provided a Project Shield America briefing that included an overview of ICE and national security-related export laws.  ICE is the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and enforces export laws administered by the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, and Treasury.  Shield America is one of the U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) priority enforcement programs.  ICE and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are the first line of defense at our nation’s borders to protect the American public from international terrorism.  Project Shield America (PSA) is an industry outreach initiative developed by ICE and was designed to stop the illegal movement of U.S. munitions list items and strategic technology having sensitive civil and military applications to proscribed destinations and international terrorist organizations throughout the world.
